 So what is it all about

Hello, let me tell you a little more, about the opportunity to join our team as a brand coordinator, and the challenge and rewards on offer.

GB Pictures is a non profit company (company limited by guarantee with no shareholders) it is involved in encouraging interest in art, collecting art and the development of a wider availability of quality art work.

Our approach to meeting these needs is not to look for handouts, but to get a wide variety of businesses and individuals to join together in very profitable ventures.  The overall project has been masterminded and put together by a business angel network, a company specialising in an area of art education, and a specialist business that helps to set up franchises, all who like you, will expect to be well rewarded for their involvement. 

We are not looking for you to do any selling, or produce art to sell, but we have an exciting and challenging range of opportunities that we are confident some of you will like the sound of.

By the way we are not trying to sell you anything, there is no cost to you to become involved, rather the opposite a chance to get a very good income, as well as an interesting and exciting lifestyle.

This year we are recruiting initially 2 brand coordinators in each region of the country, a region being the size of 4 to 6 counties. Eventually there will be six brands, but we are starting with two, and each month opening up just a small number of regions.

So if you don’t do the selling, you may want to know who does.

To do the selling we are setting up franchises, and as you may know franchises are a popular way for people to enter business, ours however are extra interesting as we have no franchise fees at all, to start or ongoing. There are several different types of franchises that work together as local teams, cutting entry cost, stock holding and has a wide range of other advantages, like being able to put on exhibitions together etc. Within each region we expect there to be between 8 and 20 local franchise teams operating within 18 months.

The art is being produced by a consortium of businesses, and will be made available through a number of brands only available through the franchises. 2 brands are available now, others will be added over the next couple of years. Currently 6 brands are in development, but others may be added.

Is this the right choice for you?

If after looking at this fully, you may decide that it is not the Brand Coordinators role that most interests you, instead you may find one of our three types of franchises, appeals to you far more or one of the other roles we have developing.

Some have misconceptions about art, perhaps they have heard of images selling for millions or even photographs from live photographers going for over a  million, on the other hand perhaps they thought all in general circulation was the low end disposable art and posters, while in reality most would like at least one or two nice pieces and some have large collections. Quality of course in this area, like any other, deserves and gets a premium. Perhaps they haven't thought about the breadth of this market, every home, business, hospital,... has images on their walls, and so the size of the market is vast. Some will assume that you have to be a part of the 'in' crowd to get into the large incomes connected with art, while others may just not realise that some are doing really nicely out of providing quality art for appreciative clients. Of course we will explain this all to you, and much more besides.

We want those concentrating on producing the art to concentrate on widening the brands range and maintaining the highest quality, and the franchises to concentrate on selling the art, to a very wide range of clients.

To make this all run smoothly we need brand co-ordinators, they talk to franchises, spreading information on new products within their brand range, feeding back suggestions, and suggesting ways that franchises can improve  their performance further. There is also the scope to promote the brand, help out at art shows and events, and a range of other PR type functions to improve the public understanding of their brand. They are the central cogs in our co-operative machine that will help it to run smoothly.

They will be involved each month in two meetings to be held at Cheltenham, one is a brand meeting where all the brand coordinators for a single brand come together for a day to pass on tips, report on ideas that have worked well, help each other in other ways and to find out about new brand items, as well as learning some skills to pass on to franchisees. The second meeting will be a regional meeting, bringing together all the brand coordinators that are covering the same region, eventually these meetings will also take place in Cheltenham, but initially at least some will be held locally in the region when our chairman is in your region recruiting more franchisees, with your help of course.

No one in the team is rewarded by commission, so if the advertisement said so this was wrong and in some cases had to be added to keep newspapers who don't understand business happy. Franchises purchase images at a special rate with a percentage off the trade price and set their own prices to sell them at, a calculating sheet is provided to make this easy for them and so they can maximise their profit. Brand Coordinators are rewarded using an override system, this is the same type of arrangement that rewards sales managers in insurance companies and the like. They are not making sales so do not receive commission on sales, but instead receive an override or percentage of the trade value of all sales of their brand within their region. This should be far more regular than a commission paid job as the effect of the override being based upon a large number of franchises means that there is an averaging effect across them as some will do better some months and others on other months. It also means that as the number of franchises grows the brand coordinators income grows correspondingly. We expect there to be a difference between the revenue earned by different brand coordinators as some will quite naturally put more in and logically get more out. We have plans to offer the best performing brand coordinators the opportunity to become owners and directors of a special company at no cost to them in about a years time. You will get the opportunity to assist outside your region on occasions and likewise have others who will assist you. This will open up more opportunities and add even greater interest as well as giving us the opportunity to develop your skills further.

From estimate to projected income

We have some work sheets that are used with a calculator and a quicker to use computer spreadsheet model.

Having explained the project, we ask you what you feel a supported franchisee could sell in your own area, and the model allows this to be taken very simply and quickly to produce a projected income.

You, franchises and others interested can do this as many times as they like, perhaps to take their best and worst projections, to look at how  income will be likely to develop over time and to explore other possibilities.

We don't tell you what numbers to use, we want you to put in your own, you also know your area far better than we do. This allows you to appreciate how hard or easy making a good living as well as having an enjoyable lifestyle is going to be.

So who is this for, well it’s easier to say who it’s not for. It’s not for people who can’t get on with other people, who cannot organise their own time and get where they need to without help.  This is not for the clock watchers but for those who like to take on an exciting challenge and enjoy seeing the results of their interest and involvement.

We don’t mind what nationality, age, sex or have any other hang-ups. This does of course mean that you likewise must enjoy the opportunity to mix with a wide range of people. We do need however for people to be able to communicate well in English. This is and the commitment to deal honestly and honourably with all our other team members are our only pre requirements. Of course experience that you have will be an advantage, as will many other talents and skills that you have, and we will encourage you to use all your skills to the full, however we believe that we can develop and empower others, and get all to help each other.

Steering Gear

We have built in loads of opportunities ahead, far more than I can tell you about here. As an important part of this team effort, you have the opportunity to be extremely well rewarded, its difficult to quote numbers but we would be disappointed if you did not earn at least two or three times what you have before, but perhaps for the first few months only just above your existing income, while we get your region set up and franchises running.
